Directions for driving from Pisa airport to Alle Borre

| 0 | As you leave
the car park, turn LEFT onto the secondary road so that the MAIN AIRPORT
FRONT is on your LEFT and the FLYOVER/AUTOSTRADA is on your RIGHT. Straight
over the mini-roundabout. Keep left at the first fork (not right here which
cuts underneath the elevated road- just yet). Keep the brown globe sculpture
on your right. (NOTE - This globe is directly opposite the main Airport
entrance) YOU ARE TURNING RIGHT AT THE END OF THE MULTISTORY CAR PARK, which
takes you under the flyover, round and joins it. At this point following signs to LIVORNO and GENOVA. |
| 4.5 | Toll booth – pick up a ticket. |
| 5.0 | Turn right following sign to GENOVA and PISA NORD on the E80 road. |
| 15.4 | Turn right following sign to PISA NORD and FIRENZE on the A11 |
| 15.5 | Stay in centre of road following FIRENZE
and LUCCA- which is written on the road. Note the E76 to Firenze is on your
right. Further along on your left is a factory with ‘TD Group’, written on it. |
| 30.6 | Two slip-roads on the right, carry straight on past the LUCCA OVEST. (west Lucca), to the LUCCA EST (east Lucca),sliproad. |
| 30.8 | Turn right following signs to LUCCA EST |
| 31.8 | Toll booth, pay €2.20. Then McDonald’s restaurant on right. Passing McDonalds, move over to the centre of road and follow blue sign to Castelnuovo d. G. (SP2) straight on. The ancient walls of Lucca. Keep the wall on your right. Take it easy, don't forget to breath. |

| 35.1 | Roundabout. Turn left, following signs to
Castelnuovo. d. G. which from now, you can follow all the way. More countryside ahead of you as you leave the town behind. Follow signs to ABETONE for a short while. |
| 40.8 | Large Roundabout. Turn left opposite the supermarket on the right called ESSELUNGA. Then you go over a river bridge..then through four tunnels. Breathing relaxed? Great, now relax your body, you are safe. |
| 45.7 | Slow down here...Take the next junction on the right. It’s signposted to Barga, Borgo a Mozzano and Castelnuovo G. Over the new (single arm) suspension bridge. Now you're driving straight up the valley. In the second World War, the American 5th army fought hard to win this ground. Many men were killed. |

| 62.0 | Enter GARFAGNANA county (brown sign). |
| 69.6 | Pass a large supermarket on the right called LECLERC. (closes at 8.00p.m.) |
| 73.4 | Ponti di Campia CAUTION - Stop sign at T-junction. You do not have the right of way. Go straight on. |
| 79.8 | CASTELNOUVO DI GARFAGNANA town limits. See 'photo-directions' through town, or... |
| 80.0 | After passing over first bridge, take next left towards and through town centre – the main square has cobbled surface. bear right up one-way road between shops. |
| 80.5 | Turn left at the forked junction opposite the Carabiniere Office (police- sign is black lettering on white background above road). Signs to CERRETOLI and COLLE. |
| 83.9 | White shrine on left where you turn left and follow brown signs to Alle Borre |
| 84.9 | Alle Borre. Arrival. By now you should be completely relaxed and at one with your car and whoevers in it. |
